Because I can't afford an MSDN subscription, I purchased the VS 2005 Team System Beta 2 which I just installed.
So I'm installed and I start up the client IDE (I only installed the client stuff) only to find that I can't seem to create a project without being connected to a team server.
The requirements for team server are very steep - I mean, I do some light work on the side, I can't afford Server 2003, SQL 2005 etc. to develop applications with.
I take it that the new version of Visual Studio is centered around teams only Or am I missing something If I don't work in a team am I relegated to VS 2003

Just IDE Client Requirements for VS2005 Professional in VSTS??? What about lone wolf programmers??

I can't speak to the sql server requirements, you might try posting your question in a SQL forum.
