I received my trial edition today and am about to install it, and I've put the system on the projected budget for next year.
But, I'm concerned about what happens if my employer doesn't cough up
the big bucks to buy the thing. Particularly the code that is
saved in the source control portion. Will it be available when
the trial expires Can I get it out easily

So, when the full licenses come in is there some way that I can apply those licenses to the installed 180 day trial version and continue on

If you are using the 180-day trial edition, you'd no longer be able to get history, checkin, checkout, etc. You would still have the latest copy of the files on your disk.
