Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library

I am receiving the following message that prevents me using Microsoft word 2002.

Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library

X Runtime Error

Program:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Winword.EXE

Abnormal Program Termination.

I have removed and reloaded Microsoft Word 2002 but the same message keeps coming up. It locks word and cannot use word.

Can anyone suggest a solution that a nerd like me can apply.
