This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Removing the Google toolbar also worked for me.........thanks

It could be due to a download that you have recently did that might have regressed the version of MSVC runtime.

I did a quick search through the internet and it revealed multiple cases where the issue may happen.

    http://search.msn.com/results.aspx q=iexplore.exe+Runtime+Error!&FORM=SSRE
    http://www.google.com/search hl=en&q=iexplore.exe+Runtime+Error%21

Hope any of the links provide more details for your case.

    Thanks to all...

I've had a few computers automatically doing the Google toolbar upgrade and a Win2000 computer had this problem.

For the person that asked - remember, you can also remove the toolbar in the Add/Remove programs applet from the Control Panel.

Thanks to all for the good catch.

I had the same problem today, came on here to try to find solution. Removed the google toolbar and now IE launches ok.

I have seen a similar Problem. The Culpret was a corrupted McAffe Security System. When You Opened a Web browser or had it open, it said somthing about the c++ runtime library. The Re-installation of the security system proved to be a good fix.

Ditto....   All of a sudden I couldn't use Any hyperlinks or Internet Explorer ... I came upon this page, read the thing about the google toolbar.

I removed it and everything returned to normal, didn't even have to shut-down or re-boot the computer.
