SQL Mobile Server Tools install on SQL 2000 SP4

  When this Laguna ST available its been a long time since this forum posted, is there any progress or not. I really need to synchronize my SQL Server Mobile with SQL Server 2000 SP4. Its urgent for my final project.
  This is the last option will I ask, if SP4 still on development, can I use the SQL Server 2000 SP3 (roll it back from SP4 to SP3) to synchronize with SQL Server Mobile (no problem offcourse)

  Well I don’t install MSDE at separated time. I install the SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2003 server so when I install I choose install Server and Client tools.

  I have the update for MSDE version SP4, when I execute the SP4 it says the MSDE not installed. I think I don’t have MSDE on my system (I don’t know why ).

  And what the mean for paid version

  I originally encounted this problem in June 2005 prior to the final release of VS2005 and SQL2005.  I believe that you will find that the SQL 2000 SP4 replication components at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx familyid=A0241F9C-79B1-4011-81E3-2601AA701E02&displaylang=en and the Sql Mobile Server tools at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx familyid=6ED0FB7E-7C05-4F59-879A-8FB619E36612&displaylang=en will resolve this issue.

  I have now resolved my problems and I am happily sychronising Sql Mobile databases with my SQL 2000 Server SP4.

  I could reproduce your scenario on SQL Server 2000 SP4.

  Laguna Server Tools work with SQL Server 2000 SP4 also.  But, the version which is available on the website is a Beta 1 version of Server Tools which does not work with SQL Server 2000 SP4.< xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  We are on the way to make Laguna Server Tools RTM Version available on the website which works with SQL Server 2000 SP4.

  I have download the both tools, apply the replication components, but then when i try install the SQL Server Mobile on desktop pc that still say warning on "System Configuration Check" at :SQL Server Requirement" it says "SQL Server 2000 Replication Component are not installed. You will not be able synchronize to SQL Server 2000".

  Because type is waring i still force installing, So i next. At the "Microsoft SQL Server Version" the "Synchronize with SQL Server 2000" check is uncheck and disabled.

  How can i resolve this

  Please reply this soon, its very important.

  Right now the updated web download is not available.  It is on the way.

  I have install the server tools, when i try synchronization using Configure Web Synchronization Wizard. At the last progress (finallizing), When "Setting snapshot share permission" a message box raised up from mscorlib that tell the progress successfull but the box is error, so when i click OK the action is rolling back. I don't know about this. Can anyone tell me

  I've got the same issue.

  I think this version of the replication components for MSDE SP4 are not compatible with Sql Mobile Server Tools.

  At the moment I HAD to go back to sp3a.

  Does anyone know when an update will be made available

  MSDE is a edition SQL Server 2000 which is license-free for use. When I say the paid version, it means that it is not a license-free version.

  Also, if you have bought SQL Server 2000, you should be installing the SP4 for SQL Server 2000 and not MSDE. They are different.

  SQL Mobile 3.0 with SQL Server 2000 SP4 is supported only if SQL Server is a paid version. We have not tested SQL Mobile 3.0 with MSDE and not sure of the problems you may face or faced.
