reporting services can not find SSL certificate name?

Durring SQL2005 RS install we recieve the error:
"SQL server setup failed to receive the SSL certificate name"

the Certificate on the default site is a simple cert issued by the same machine we were installing SQL2005 on (MS2k3 SP1) and does have a "friendly name".

Can we install RS without it finding the default SSL

Do we have to remove certificates prior to RS install

any advice would be appreciated!
