TFS all the way. When using SourceSafe we had horrendous problems checking packages in. A large percentage of the time it simply failed, usually on large packages. And that often resulted in corrupted SourceSafe files as well so we lost all history
Since upgrading to TFS corruption problems have disappeared completely and, for me at least, so have the check-in problems. The guy next to me still has the odd check-in failure (don't know why its different for the two of us) but by and large it behaves fine.

Are there any comparisons to Sourcegear Vault and other source control tools available somewhere
Also, does TFS require VPN access to the network or can it use https access
