maybe i am really dumb, but how do i know hat is june and what is a april CTP

i recieved a DVD package, called Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2, with Sql 2005, VSTFS and VSTFC 2005, usually i would take it a they should work together, well but i am really and truly not sure anymore... if this sql server version works with this teamfoundation server version.... let me know...had already about 20 trials of installs on different machines, member server and domain controller....

let me know where i can see which version is it, please...

The beta2 DVD was released in June, and is the 'official' best way to get everything running together. Anything else is a CTP (community technology preview), which doesn't guarantee a build quality of a beta, but may showcase functionality not included in beta2. I would not use any CTP pre june, and only use the post june ones if you really want to see the changes (and ideally in a virtual machine).

well i read the the june ctp pf vstfs is only workin with april ctp pf sql....

but your info makes me sure that it should work or at least worked on some places already.... *** so i have to search for a new possible error source, *** but would have been to cheap in that way .... :-)
