Hi to u all,
I have installed RS 2005 B2 on Win Server 2000+Sp4, and the installation seems to be OK (I have checked both the Db and the IIS), BUT No matter what I do, I can`t access the Report Manager. When I type http://localhost/reports it opens a dialog box in which I have to enter a user+password+domain. It does not accept any user what so ever (including administrators). In addition, I tried to change the Security configs @ the iis, but it didn`t seem to help.
Any Ides
Tnx,
Tamir

Can`t access Report Manager

Tnx for your reply. We haven`t managed to solve this problem, but we know what is causing it: We have installed RS on a domain controler that has win 2000 server- it seems to us that RS doesn`t like this configuration at all!

This edition of the Reporting Server Database is not supported on the edition of SQL Server 2000 you have chosen, Please choose another SQL Server that matches the requirements.
Environment:
Windows 2003 Server Standard edition
SQL SVR 32 bit standard edition Service Pack 3A
Reporting Services 2000
(Client tools installl but server installation halts withthe above error)
Visual studio.net 2003
The following buletin associates this error with the a 64-bit version of SQL SVR 2000. However, as you can see, I'm using the 32 bit version.
Any advice

MESSA
Started with the following environment:
Windows XP Professional SP2
Visual studio.net 2003
SQL SVR 2000 Upgraded to SP 4.
Managed to get everything runing except for the report server. Created a report in Visual studio and previewed the report in visual basis.
The next step seemed to be to install the report server. This did not go well.
First it indicated that we were using the wrong version of SQL server so we tried downgrading to SP3a.
We got a bit further in the installation but on screen messages then indicated that the report server required a trusted domain.
Is this true Is it not possible to install and run the report server with local windows authentication.
We are now in the process of upgrading to windows 2003 server and creating a trusted domain. Its not going well. Please help.
Please adress the folowing questions:
- Can the entire Visual studio, Sql SVR and reporting services environment be installed on windows XP professional SP2
- Can a trusted domain be confidured on XP professional
- Are we on track with the windows 2003 server path and trusted domain
- Is the trusted domain issue a wild goose chase because perhaps ther is another way to instal the report server with out using domain authentication
Thanks, PKasanda
