I am installing SQL 2000 analysis service on Windows 2003 but when the installation bar reaches to its completion, it closes down without any warning. I can see the directory created but no related service or icon is created. Also there is an error message in the even viewer.

Hard to say what is going on. You can try and select different Analysis Services components during installation.
Contact Microsoft support for this situation, see if guys there can find anything similar to what you're seeing.

It is probably the case - AS 2000 setup comes in the conflict with previously installed software on your server.
Try and see if you find SQL Server setup log files in your Windwos directory: they are named as sqlsp.log or sqlstp.log. See you find any clue why setup is failing.
Contact Microsoft Customer support if you cant find the solution.
The last resort is to rebuild your Windows2003 server OS.

I installed the software on another server with similar setup and no issues. Could be a conflict with other software in the previous server.
