Is there something in particular that has to be done to enable this I've installed Avalon and the other pieces with it, updated my gfx driver the the latest version from nvidia, but I'm still getting the plain aero, and I don't see anywhere to enable aero glass.
My system is far above the requirements needed for it: Athlon64x2 4400, GF7800GTX, 2GB RAM...

Enabling aero glass?

Josh -
FYI - on the page that you referenced for downloading the alpha driver (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_75.03.html) it says:
"Note: This driver is not compatible with Windows Vista and Longhorn Server build 5270 - The December CTP. Please use the drivers that are included with that build of the operating system. "

According to my understanding. 5270 onward use DirectX 10. You can type dxdiag under 'run' to verify it. My version is DxDiag 6.00.5270.0009 64-bit Unicode.
BTW someone have managed to enable AERO effect in Nvidia display card. They even though have that Slow Motion Effect & Slow Scroll Slow Motion Effect. I tested on 5270 (x64) and it work perfectly smooth. I am not sure if it is legitimate to discuss here. Therefore I won't show you the URL.
Pls don't try to use 7503 Nvidia driver. It's an old one which announced not to be compatiable with Build 5270. Just my 2 cents.

How do you manage that.
I have a Tecra M4 with GeForce 6200 TE 64 Mb and when I try to install any of Nvidias drivers it tells me it does not recognice my hardware.
Please help

Hi,
Mummm .... I've a XT1800XT ... and no drivers work again on beta 5270.
I tried :
- Catalys 5.13 about Windows XP 64 bits drivers : Blue Screen Of Death
- Catalys 5.13 about Windows XP 32 bits drivers : Blue Screen Of Death
- CATALYST Beta Driver 1 for Windows Vista beta 1 (code name Longhorn) : not good drivers : work only with cards X8xxx series and others "old" card. Not with the X1xxx series.
Sincerly,

@Josh Phillips
I think your information was a bit outdated. Everyone should stick to the default drivers which comes with Build 5270. My Nvidia driver 6600GT even work in my 64-bit 5270 with full Aero Effect.
If it not work, just wait for next build or at your own risk. Go try that kind of tweak (I don't know it's considered legitimate or not without Microsoft's consent) and let your OS with full AERO effect.

That is incorrect, and I am shocked that anyone would tell you that. There are card from Nvidia that do glass today.

I have the nc6220 with the Intel 915 graphics card and I have never been able to get Aero Glass running... What driver are you using
I have tried all the builds, even the latest 5365.

You might find the latest x64 Bit drivers work on under Vista nicely.
I also had a play with the NT Drivers also. But you still loose the Glass effect.
