RSS failu The RSS feed is not including the replies to the original posting

I run NewsGator in Outlook 2003 and the RSS feed for this forum is only including the original posting and none of the replies.

Any plans to fix this

This is also the only forum I use at the moment, nonetheless
question and comments about forums I have go here ; as you already did awhile back  in Microsoft Technical Forums Site Feedback for forums.microsoft.com/msdn Suggestions for Forums website Do these forums map directly to NG's on msnews.microsoft.com

This is the only forum I'm forced to use.

The rest of the WinFX components have publicly accessible Internet standard newsgroups.

It is also interesting to note that Microsoft supports notification of new replies with its proprietary Alerts service and has chosen to not provide the same level of service in their RSS notifications.

    Hi mwherman2000:

I've forwarded your issue on to the MSDN Forums team.   Just as Yves mentioned, it's best to post feedback or issues with the forums to the Suggestions forum.  This one is being monitored directly by the Forums team and they are empowered to improve/fix issues with the forums.

You might want to report this on 'the site feedback' > "suggestions for Forums website" (look at this thread)

Just to follow-up on this issue, I was told by Josh Ledgard on the MSDN Forums team that this is a current limiation with the forums feed.  However, there is additional support for RSS coming.  You can view the entire spec here.

    I hope this helps.

The above prompted me to check something I never usually think of doing: clicking on the Terms of Use link for this forum.

Here's a direct quote from one section:

Microsoft does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to Microsoft (including feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any Services or its associated services for review by the general public, or by the members of any public or private community, (each a "Submission" and collectively "Submissions"). However, by posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting ("Posting") your Submission you are granting Microsoft, its affiliated companies and necessary sublicensees permission to use your Submission in connection with the operation of their Internet businesses (including, without limitation, all Microsoft Services), including, without limitation, the license rights to: copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your Submission; to publish your name in connection with your Submission; and the right to sublicense such rights to any supplier of the Services.

No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your Submission, as provided herein. Microsoft is under no obligation to post or use any Submission you may provide and Microsoft may remove any Submission at any time in its sole discretion.

While Microsoft is not claiming direct ownershp of the postings to this forum, it is claiming that it has the right to sublicense all community members' postings and replies to other organizations without compensating the contributors to this forum.

I don't believe this would have been possible using an open technology platform like NNTP or a complete and open RSS feed (that doesn't include Microsoft copyright notices).

Is this a resurgance of the "arrogant Microsoft" of 5 and 10 years ago

It's troubling that in the spec you referenced, Microsoft is asserting copyright ownership on community members' postings and replies.
