i must be an idiot or something ive been trying all week to install vista on my pc with nothing but problems.
i have a sata hard drive running windows xp. i also have a fully formatted ide hard drive that i want to install vista onto only. i dont have a dvd burner so i cant burn the iso files to a cd to create a bootable install . i can use a virtual drive ( daemon tools ) for this i believe
what is the best thing to do in my case
should i re-install xp onto the ide drive , then add a partition for vista
or leave xp on the sata and install vista onto the ide ( basically run two differnet operating systems on two seperate drives )
i really need some answers here and no one seems to want to help me.
i found out the hard way that vista wont run right on a sata drive.

how do you install vista ???

Hi!
It's not true that no one want to help you :)
I don't have Vista yet, and I don't have a chance to try your problems, but I know for sure, that if you can't burn DVD - you can put all into XP folder and start from there. Also I think it's best to install Vista on separate HDD, so you won't have problems with XP.
About SATA - I think Vista must work with it natively, if not - big minus for new OS. Try IDE for Vista, SATA for XP - this is safe way I think, if not work - then Vista really don't have something good to offer.
