Lies?

On http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsvista/downloads/getthebeta/default.aspx

Microsoft says:

Download the Latest Windows Vista

If you are not already a member of the Windows Vista beta program, there are still two ways to obtain the latest public CTP or beta version of Windows Vista.

But whatever you click and wherever you go, there is no link to actually download it.

Does Microsoft lie to his customers who would like to test a $300+ product before purchase

Bottom line: yes.

Sad.

Please note that (a) this product is not yet publicly available; (b) the Beta version is not yet complete; (c) The link to join the Beta Experience gives detailed instructions on how to get involved in the Beta software program; (d) in any event, you may not want pre-release software for your machine, as there are, by definition, bugs in the software at this point.

In any event, this is the forum for the Windows Software Development Kit. We are not directly tied to the teams that determine who can be involved in Microsoft's Beta program. The link to the Windows Vista Beta Experience site will steer you towards the right team to begin getting you involved in the Beta program.

    buzzbuba dont create a buzz

    read the line again

Windows Vista Beta Program - If you wish to become a beta member, you can do so by registering for the world-wide Windows Vista Beta Experience.

It says "if you wish to become a beta member". It does not say "To become a beta member". I have heard of people getting invites..

anyway MS needs some good writters who dont write confusing statements

As the text states,  you are registering to become a beta member. The beta isn't shipping yet.

I've updated the text to better reflect these two facts.

hopefulcoder, please do us a favor and look at the Beta 2 of the SDK when it's released to see if your links are fixed. Ken, Keith and their team did a lot of work to clean up the links in the Beta 2. If there are still incomplete links, send them to me and I will pass them on to the appropriate people.

OMG, another innocent user has been wronged I can't imagine what MS would have to do, how should they put the words in sentences and how much larger font they have to use - to let everybody know that Vista OS is not available for public download.

Bottom line: where does MS lie When did they promise to give Vista OS to everybody for free Just look at the text you Copied&Pasted - if you decided to ignore it, don't be surprised you can't get what you are searching for.

    >>>The link you gave is messed up.

    Corrected

    >>>btw most of the msdn reference that came with the vista sdk has incomplete links. Can you fix them as well.

I would suggest starting a separate thread that the SDK Docs PM can respond to.
