Standard Person definition schema

Hi all,

I've been working with several industry standards for vertical matters such as Human Resources, Accounting, Billing, etc...

However, none of those standards seem to follow a standard definition to declare person information. Do not misunderstand myself, they do greatly the job and I couldn't found any missing information but they just use their own schema definitions.

I'm right now working on a project which mainly focus on managing person information and I wondered if anyone of you would have heard of a standard schema to define persons

I've been googling around but couldn't find any information about it.

Thanks by advance.

Cordially,

Standard Person definition schema

That's why we lack of a standardisation for the <person> definition.

Other schemas are built so you may actually use part of it creating your vertical need from a bigger set of definition.

Look at the XHTML definition, when developing your website using this language definition, you may use it all or only part of it...

Nothing in XML denies you from doing so, only the schema definition implementation do so...

And the reason there is a lack of such a thing is that when people have tried to do this by committee the definition of <person> becomes too huge and generally overkill for each of the specific applications you are talking about. Some verticals care more about locating & contacting people, some care about their health, some care more about their employment, some care more about their legal status, etc, etc. So I think the best we can do here is define the semantics precisely in each vertical schema set, then build transforms for those cases where we need to bridge between different industries.

As far as I know there is no such thing.
