I will apologize in advance for being a outsider coming in and asking you professionals to help me. I'm just lost at what I need to do.
I had a terrible experience with a website developer company and so I was told I should just hire a programmer to create the program and then I can have it installed and a website designed for it's use.
My problem is, now that the programmer has created it, they have sent me the program to install and test and I don't know what I have to so.
They did tell me I needed to install .net and sent me the link to do that and I did.
Now though, do I just download the file they sent and it will automatically open up and run
Again, I'm sorry for being dumb about this. And any help is greatly appreciated.

I understand that. But I need to be able to see if it works and functions properly. I guess I just wanted to be able to check to see if they did the work the right way (check their work) and that way know if they are just ripping me off like the last company was doing.
I have a whole bunch of code for a website that wont work properly and I really can't do anything with it.
But if someone want to volunteer (out of the goodness of their heart) to make it work, I guess I wouldn't have to ask for someone's help to see if I'm being sucked again.
I thought I was asking an okay question.

For most people here coding is day to day job and they may not be interested in fixing somebody’s code.
Sorry. This is not a big fun. It's like cleaning somebody’s apartment.
If you decide to do this yourself we would be happy to help you with concrete problems you hit.
It also important to try to select appropriate forum. This one is about XML in the .NET Framework.
