    This is an odd question.  I'm not sure how it could be answered, or why you would care C# is a pretty mature language, with a lot of support, and it is widely used.  I think that's all you need to know, and probably more than you need.  If C# is a good fit for the work you want to do, then use it.

    There's no possible way to know. I guess Microsoft could tell you how many people downloaded their compiler and bought their C# products, but I doubt this information is available publicly. Also, each product varies on what language is used. Thus, every C# programmer should be a C++ developer as much as every Java programmer should be a C# programmer. The question then is how many programmers are out in the world right now.
