Cannot Find Server

Since I have an AMD 64-bit 3000+, I installed the pre-released Visual C# 2005 Beta 2. But this application is not working. Every time I click the application in Program File,  the only message  in the window

'Cannot Find Server - Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Beta'

is

"The page cannot be displayed".

In the window, any attempt connecting to any Microsoft official address also fails (eventhough at that time I am logging in with my .NET passport). The application simply cannot connect me to its server or to any Microsoft site via internet.

Before I installed it, I had to remove older versions of the application, e.g. Microsoft  .NET Framework.

Please help me!

I think I already sent my reply that my system is a Windows XP Home Ed (dual boot with Slackware Linux) with Compaq Presario R385EA (I hardly read it) with 1 Gb DDRAM and 80 Gb Hard Disk

I was a little bit disappointed to read the result of a European Getest that puts a type of HP laptops equivalent with mine at the second lowest rank among tested laptops under 1500 euros and with hard disk capacity at least 60 Gb. But I have a little relieve to read that the best laptops in the range 1500-2000 euros is HP ones.

I should've digged my pocket deeper for a more expensive laptop :o).

Can you tell me a little more about the machine

What os ver are you running
What .net frameworks did you have previously installed

    thanks!

If you had previous Whidbey (.NET 2.0; Visual Studio 2005) betas on your machine, you may need to run a clean-up tool. Check our Aaron Stebner's blog for an assortment of clean-up related posts and links to his tool he's created to clean-up your machine with beta bits. See http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/.

One more thing, I think I already removed the .NET Framework SDK v1.1 (required in order to install the new Visual C#Express 2005 Beta 2). My browser is IExplore.

Thanks for your reply. I would try it later since I've been very busy and plan to go aboard
