I thought you could convert back to 97 format. At least, in Office 2003, on the Tools->Database Utilities->Convert Database menu, there is an option for To Access 97 File Format. I don't have an install of Office XP that I can check, but I thought I remembered seeing that option in several versions. This link has some more information: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051863711033.aspx, look under "Converting an Access 2000 or Access 2002 - 2003 file to a previous version".
As described in the link, there are some limitations in doing this, but it should be possible.
This sounds more like a Microsoft Access question. Unfortunately the answer is no. You can convert from older versions to newer versions but not vice versa. About the best you can expect to do is export data to an intermediate format (such as an Excel Workbook or Text file) and then import into the older version.
A patch for what For Access itself, or for a development technology like ADO.NET Are you running into a problem that you are looking for a fix for If so, please post more information about the problem.
This forum is geared to ADO.NET, so unless that's what you are asking about, this is probably not the best place, but I'm not sure where is, without more information.
The Office communities are listed here, if it's Access you have questions about: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/FlyoutOverview.mspx. If your question is not about Access, but just about using .mdb files, we might be able to help you here or direct you to the right MSDN forum.
Basically as a school project I have to do a database. At school we are using Access 97. At home I have Access XP. Now you cant open Access XP Databases in 97. But you can open 97 files in the XP version. But you cannot save them as 97 files once youv'e finished with it(I hope everyone is still following here). I was wondering if there was a way that you could save 97 files in XP as 97 files. So that I could open them back in school.
