Getting "Download Failed" Message!

Hello Experts,

We are facing this issue quite a while now and we have to repair our SDK everytime to get rid of this error message. Please help us find out WHY we get this Download Failed message everytime we start the emulator while working on evcpp The emulator works perfectly though once loaded but failed to show the application files.

Any comments/suggestions will help us a lot!

With Best Regards,

Vicky

Many thanks for the reply! Yes I am using VS 2003 abd eVC++ on the same development machine, but they are ofcourse not runniing at the same event of time. This happnes randomly, no specific patterns that I was able to make out.

But I am not sure about the OS I am using, one of my machine is having Windows 2003 Enterprise Server edition (the problem machine) and all others have Windows XP for which no emulator issues been faced till now.

    What could have gone wrong!

    Best Regards,

    Vicky

We managed to resolve the issue!

The system's NIC was not configured properly. Moreover, it has to be connected to network to acquire correct address. eVC uses TCP/IP connection to send data to PPC via ActiveSync or KITL

I suspect that you are not actually using Device Emulator but an older x86 emulator instead. You can download the Device Emulator Preview edition from here:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/windowsmobile/downloads/emulatorpreview/default.aspx

Then you can use ActiveSync connectivity to connect to VS 2003 and eVC

    Thanks,
