Hi all
Coming from J2ME and Symbian worlds, I would like to learn and develop apps in Windows Mobile.
What are the differents between Standard and Professional version of Studio 2005 in regards with Windows mobile developments
For mobile developments, are these two versions having similar deployment tools
Many thanks in advance for the info

Visual Studio 2005 Standard or Professionl

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're developing simple application for your personal use or to post for free on a WEB, std will do. If you're planning to develop enterprise grade applications interacting with, say, SQL Server and complete with desktop installer, std is probably not an option unless complemented with 3rd party tools.

we don't need fancy 64 bit support, server explorer etc, we would like to find tool that can be used for - industrial strengt mobile apps.
Let me rephrase again:
We would like to select tool to create industrial streng mobile applications. Why I will pay more for Professional version, if the standard version can match our objectives in developing commercial mobile apps
Can someone from Microsoft give a clear information regarding this

Thanks for the reply.
I have looked at these links before I made this post (including the matrix).
Anyway, from my assumption, if I want to use visual studio only for mobile development, is is better to use the standard visual studio 2005
Hopefully, Microsoft will put better information on Visual Studio 2005. The products segmentation is pretty confusing here.
Is it "difficult" to choose the approriate development tools on Microsoft platform

For standalone mobile applications without deployment support Std is as good as Pro.
Since it’s all subjective, consider getting evaluation copy (Beta 2 for now) of VS Std and see if it’s good enough for you before you buy. < xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
