Acces1 1.0 converted to Acces 2003 but the old medical program does not run.

We have in our Hospital an old program written with Access 1.0. For more than 12 years it was OK but the size of the data base reached 1 GB since we are scanning images for each patient, and then the program collapsed. We were able to convert the old 1.0 databae to Access 2003 format, but the program does not recognizes the convered data. We don't have the program codes and the young lady that wrote the program for us 12 years ago, have had twins, and she does not answer our calls long time ago.

I got some help in the SQL forum and thanks to that we converted the Access 1.0 data to the 2003 version, but we are unable to find someone here that is capable to write us a new medical office program that uses our old data. We are not able to find someone to modify this simple but very functional software, to be able to use the converted database.

There was a suggestion to post this problem in the VBA forum, so if someone can help, it will be highly appreciated.

Hopefully, Mike and his company can assist you with this project.

If not, you can also look for other Microsoft Partners who create applications and solutions specifically for the Healthcare industry. The following tools might be helpful in finding them:

I actually have been doing a few application upgrades from vb6/access to .Net/SQL server recently. I can't guarantee that I would be able to help you migrate the application, but I can provide a free needs assessment for you, determining what your application currently does and what it would take to replicate it with current technology.

Do you have the source code for the current application Other than storage, are there any other needs that the current application doesn't meet A good start is just to try to get the application working as it does currently and then address additional functionality.

I hope that you can get the support you need, even if it's not from me.
