Recommended source for icons?

I got my version of Visual Studio Basic .Net from the Microsoft website, but it looks like the installation didn't include the icons collection. At least, one of my Basic books refers to a collection of icons that comes with .Net, and I don't have it. Anyway, can anyone recommend a public domain source for icons that I can use in my .Net applications Thanks.

This website contains a lot of nice, free icons of which most can be used even for commercial use! Here is the link: iconaholic.com | icons, icons & more icons!

    Onisama,

I feel for you on this one. I truly do. I wish you had your email address on your profile.

There's LOTS of ways to get icons.......

First of all.... there are free icon extractors that will collect icons from system images and then and write them out as files.

There is also code here written in VB (By me) for icon extraction... multiple icon extraction.

You may want to check that out.

The style and look of icons have changed dramatically over the years. If you really want a professional look to your applications, I recommend going to iconshock.com. You have to pay for them. But I think they are much more professional looking and "current" for modern applications. And I actually find their prices quite reasonable considering how many icons you get. They even offer batches of free ones.

    Hope this helps.
