We have a code behind HTML applet, this applet gives the following error when we try to load it "Can't get WFC form surface" on Windows XP-SP2 machine. The IE version is 6.0.2800.1106. The same applet used to work on the same machine sometime back. When we searched in msdn we found the following link:

which suggests that the problem was addressed with Visual Studio 6.0 SP3. But since this applet was working before on the same machine, we are not sure if upgrading the visual studio is the right option. Please let us know if you have any hints on this issue.

Just to understand your scenario better,
Was it earlier working fine for you on XP SP2 machine If yes, Did u install any security updates If yes, you might want to try Visual Studio SP3 option.
