Should WDS be able to search emails that have been digitally signed with an S/MIME certificate I can search for the title of the email, but none of the body is indexed. And, actually, I seem to be able to seach the emails that I have signed, but none signed by others.
These days, about 30% of my email is received signed. I have been able to search the body of these with one of the other desktop search tools, so it doesn't seem to be a technical limitation.

Indexing digitally signed emails (S/MIME)

I don't mind. It was "Google Desktop Search" that was able to index the body of S/MIME signed emails. Glad to hear that you will consider this as a future feature. I will keep my eye on it.
Thanks.

Thanks David,
I appreciate the info. We're already looking into ways to add this functionality.

David,
The behavior you are experiencing is currently what is expected of WDS. We do not index the body of emails with S/MIME certificates.
Your case is compelling, however, as these certificates are being used ever more widely. I'm going to throw this in as a suggestion for a future feature of WDS.
Would you mind providing the name of the other search engine that is able to index the S/MIME signed emails I'd be interested in doing some research into their current methods.
Thanks in advance,
