  Thanks for your reply. It's not the custom controls that I'm interested in.. it's more applying a theme to the application (but not limited to XP), so that the standard look and feel to the application is different from the current XP Theme Selection

  The most of the controls i listed use GDI+ to get that look, this is a normal way if you want to create your own nice looking control's or override existing controls.
  
  Here is a nice tutorial for GDI+, http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/2/gdi_plus.asp. But you can recheck the list i posted and take a look at some controls how they create such a great apperience.
