I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but as it's the Visual C# forum I figured I would do it here.
I've searched since around 11:00 PM (it's now 4:00 AM) for a fix to my problem. Apparently I used to have Visual C# Express Edition and MSDN Express Edition both installed and somehow I messed everything up, now preventing me from installing Visual C# again. I have no way to uninstall these, I've run multiple "clean-up" tools, one worked but returned errors when it got to Visual C# and MSDN, which were:
Error 1316.A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: c:\WINDOWS\Installer\msdnexp.msi
AND
Error 1316.A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: c:\WINDOWS\Installer\vcssetup.msi
I've searched the net for both of these MSI packages to see if I could manually replace them, but in vain. I've tried everything I can think of and everything I've found on the net about these problems and I'm honestly stuck.
I had the idea of possibly repairing the old installs but I have no old MSIs to use for it.
I hope someone is able to help me out here. I've provided everything I can think of providing for someone to help me fix the problem and I hope it's sufficient, but if it isn't please leave a reply with the information you'd like to obtain and I will shortly reply back with it. I'll check the post when I wake up. Everyone, thanks in advance.
